Our Style

The style of Martial Arts that we teach is a combination of many different Martial Arts Systems with a major emphasis on Western Boxing, Muay Thai, Wrestling, and Jiu Jitsu.

Western Boxing
One of the oldest forms of competition known, boxing has increasingly become the sport of choice for many people. Boxing's simplistic method has few techniques, yet the application of these techniques is the true art and science of this popular sport.

Our coaching staff has over 25 years experience as coaches, trainers, and competitors with numerous NYS Golden Glove Championship wins and Empire State Games medals.

Muay Thai (Thai Boxing)
Muay Thai is a blend of art, science and sport. The Thai art is a very powerful ring fighting method, yet is also an excellent form of physical conditioning and street self - defense. The techniques taught in Thai Boxing include: punches, elbows, knees and the powerful Thai style of kicking. The system taught at CNY MMA is the form taught to Kevin Seaman and Erik Charles by Master Surachai Sirisute. Both of whom are certified instructors under Master Sirisute. Kru Seaman is also a Special Advisor for the Thai Boxing Association of the U.S.A.

Tai Kai Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting with the goal of gaining a dominant position and using joint-locks and chokeholds to force an opponent to submit. It promotes the principle that a smaller, weaker person using leverage and proper technique can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant. The grappling program at CNY MMA is overseen by BJJ Champions Sensei Ken Kronenberg and Sensei Scott Schultz of Tai Kai in Syracuse, NY.
